There are many good points in the article.
However where the author assumes to know the personal motivations behind the President and some Republicans for repudiating Lotts comments, he is absolutely clueless.
He dismisses the possibility that people could possibly be motivated by a committment to what is right....
The author is guilty making the same sort of assumptions and false judgements he claims others are making against Lott.
