If Rove is backing First then it's time to get solidly behind Nickols! Rove needs to be run out of DC if not out of the country, he's bent on destroying conservatives and replacing them with RINOS!

Exactly correct! It is imperative for us to spread the word among the conservative GOP grassroots about Frist's pro-abortion voting record. We have not suffered under a pro-abortion Republican Senate Leader in at least 20 years. If pro-abortion Sen. Frist were to take control of the Senate with Bush's blessing the entire pro-life agenda would continue to be torpedoed almost as effectively as it would under RAT leadership! I am very dissapointed that Rove and Bush are backing a pro-abortionist like Frist to replace pro-life Lott. I would much rather have Lott with all his faults than pro-abortion Frist. I cannot and will not support Frist for Senate Majority Leader. If Bush and Rove want to get this contraversy behind us, they are going to make it even worse with the conservative grassroots with Bill Frist. Lott is a far better conservative than Frist.

I wondered how First stood on abortion - now how does he stand on illegal immigration.

I am remembering Lott made a statement on ending partial birth abortion and putting troops on the border. I am beginning to wonder if it is the Democrats fueling this or perhaps someone higher up? Now the Pres. may want a ban on partial birth abortion - I don't know - but he does not want any discussion about troops on the border. He wants that to remain out there where he can call it the 'fringe element'. If you have the Senate majority leader bringing it up - it gives it credence and the Pres. just can't have that. It will cause the American people to actually begin dicussing this problem. He is trying to pretend it doesn't exist - and you know what? We have let him get away with it.

Now if Lott leaves the senate, resigns as ML and stays in the senate, or if he remains as ML, it won't matter as far as the illegal situation. He has been branded a racist and has been sucessfully neutralized on the subject of the border. If he made any attempt to bring it up, he and others would be labelled, once again, racists and it would die.

IN any situation, you have to see who benefits. And it is not always the most obvious.
