If we lose the Senate (we wont) then it is what we deserve for standing behind a loser in the first place. Lott has never been a friend to conservatism, and I thank the rats for getting rid of him for us.

"..throw Lott out, the whole party is going to crumble."

If the only thing holding this party together is a thin reed like Trent Lott, then it's already crumbled, and just hasn't had the little breeze necessary to blow it down.

If the RC handles this with decorum and clarity, regardless of what WussyBoy does, it will be a tremendous boost for the Party, and reinforce the truth about Conservatives not tolerating weaselly racist innuendo.

This can go a long way toward disarming the race card.
Lott's arrogant ego is a small price to pay for correcting our image among minority voters. Remember, an increase in black votes to a mere 15-20% and the democrat party is sucking wind for years to come. And we can have that without altering our agenda, if we can build credibility on the race issue.

Dumping Lott on our own initiative, not waiting for the firestorm to get too hot and folding under pressure, does that. It's also the right thing to do.

"you people throw Lott out the whole party is going to crumble!"

We agree on much when it comes to issues, however if the "whole party" is dependent upon the survival of a weak at best SML, severely damaged by both his actions and his words, then the party is just a cracked shell waiting to crumble at even the smallest chip.

Of course I am biased as I used Lott's unwillingness or inability to make the DemocRATS stand up and support the slick one in a real trial, with real witnesses, to move me from remaining in the GOP after 32 years of loyal support anyway.

I could be wrong but I think Lott has been the biggest liability to the GOP even before his verbal gaff and I don't find that gaff all that bad. I just want Lott gone. For the sake of the Republic.

I think they did a pretty good job of that already, or don't you remember the Phony Impeachment, your boy Lottypop presided over?

Shared power, loss of six seats under his leadership, folding on every issue of importance, not to mention, he must have failed public speaking 101.

You could reasure me of his leadership ability if you can just recall the dates that major bills concerning such conservative causes as Partial Birth Abortion were brought to the floor when we had the majority in both houses and the Presidency.
