Many disagree with me but I think the Republican Party needs to get their message united and call on Lott to resign as Majority Leader. He is damaged by his own stupidity and our entire agenda is at stake. The President's re-election is at stake. This story is not going to go away. And, finally, we can say good-bye to any conservative judicial nominees. The RATS in the Senate are totally energized now, as are the RATS in the House.

"The RATS in the Senate are totally energized now, as are the RATS in the House." As are the conservatives...pretty strange bedfellows, no?"

And, unfortunately, Mitch McConnell doesn't seem to get it. It has gone way beyond what Lott said and his enemies in the media and in the other party have sunk their teeth in this and they aren't going to let go. Ever.
It's sad, and yes it's a double standard, but people have to face reality.

I have real mixed feelings about this. On the one hand I think it is awful for conservatives to shoot their wounded. On the other Trent has not acted as a conservative since he became leader.
Another thought. Why is that everyone seems to be a big expert on what Lott meant by his statement. I would think the worlds leading expert on what Lott meant would be Lott.
