I liked that one also and Silver Bells. I saved O Holy Night to play later or you could play it if you'd like. His music is very good.

Wow! FNS was showing a few of these yesterday. God has given us an amazingly beautiful place to live. Thanks for bringing the pics here.

You might find interesting the Live Cam Site from which these were taken.
SpookBrat, this is an excellent one for you to use as a homeschooling Mom!
For reference, the URL is http://wwwndo.ak.blm.gov/live.html - do bookmark it.
Fairbanks, Alaska
Go have a look at how it is there at 2-something in the afternoon!!
Be certain, too, to click on the headings at the top for fascinating word pictures of this by the person who maintains the site.
The Archives will delight you about this very different world.

JL - this is a permanent website maintained by a man who lives on a farm outside the city per se.
He goes to and from a regular job - one I assume is involved with the Live Cam.
It is well worth it to explore his archives and word descriptions about seeing these things and the atmosphere he views daily in his life there.
You might find interesting the train system in Alaska; the only one owned by the state in which it lies.
A primary feature, as I remembered, is one can flag it down at any point along the run from Anchorage to Fairbanks, etc. and the train will stop to let you on or off!
Something like the old Greyhound bus lines in the 40's in the Lower 48..:)))

Truly some of God's greatest artistry, Dubya.
Made it worth it to have those winters with weeks when the
HIGH temperature for the day was 40 below zero - hanging around 50 below most days - and was pitch black dark most of the time.
I loved the summer, though, when the sun did not actually set from mid-May to mid-August!
Kind of twilight around midnight, but you still could play baseball or fish or whatever around the clock.

He started teaching himself to play on a old used Richmond upright piano when he was 6. He'd have a hammered dulcimer if we had the room living in a 14 x 80 mobile home doesn't give you many options. He's added a boat on to his train page.

Now the music link isn't working it just takes you to the tripod site. I was hoping it would stay up there.
Hammered dulcimer......that sounds serious! ;)
To: LadyX
Wow Lady that was a good find. I've lived in the south too long though...couldn't handle that.
To: LadyX
Thanks, those photos of the aurora borealis are so beautiful. They say it sometimes gets as far south as where I grew up, Vermont, but I've never seen it. Always wanted to.

Hey look, folks !
He's ba-a-a-ck !
Thought you could get rid of me that easy, eh? Well, no such luck ;^)
My puter problems were far more complicated than I thought, so I decided to do a complete system upgrade. Works like a charm now. Great to be back!

Beautiful pics of the Northern Lights. Thanks !
To: Aquamarine
He'd have a room full of instruments if we had the room and the money. A hammered dulcimer cost about $1,000 last time he priced one. I won't tell you what we paid for the keyboard. We got it with insurance money, some crooks came in and stole his old keyboard, his Mossberg, guitar, tools and some other stuff. When the ins company settled he opted to go for a high end keyboard, not that his old one wasn't high end.
