The "Power Sharing" deal was Lott's idea. A REAL leader wouldn't have allowed the Dems a single Committee Chair. Did the Dems return the favor after Benedict Jeffords jumped ship? NO. They have a REAL leader. Daschle might be a pig, but he's the leader of the pigs. And a ruthless one at that.
Lott has been a wimpy leader from the get-go. If he leaves the Senate, then the Pubs still have a 51/50 Majority with Cheney. And with a REAL Majority leader, the Dems will wish this issue never came up.

I was thinking the same thing. 51-50 with cheney running the senate.
heh heh.
Of course, WE could counter blackmail Lott with the gay thing, if he resigned his senate seat!
We gotta hang togather, or we will certainly hang separately.

If Lott leaves, his successor has to negotiate with Daschle.

Lott has been a wimpy leader from the get-go. And that's bragging on him.
If he leaves the Senate, then the Pubs still have a 51/50 Majority with Cheney.
That's assuming somebody like Chaffee or Snowe don't jump over to the other side, and you can believe they are being offered the earth, the moon, and the stars to do so right now.
And with a REAL Majority leader, the Dems will wish this issue never came up.
Not going to happen. The RINO's control the WH and the RNC. The truth is Daschle could be their spokesman and leader without missing a beat.
