Free speech only applies to certain people.

Once again, California paves the way for destruction of the American foundation all in the name of political correctness.

"The United States Justice Foundation was requested by CRI to research the law on the matter, and responded with an open opinion stating any ban on using the word "Christmas" is an "abject violation" of the California Education Code."

Uh... it is the only holiday of this season that is a NATIONAL holiday. Violation my butt!

"My expectation was that they use common sense," he said.

Apparently, he wouldn't know common sense if it came up and bit him in the tail section. If he wanted people to use their common sense, he wouldn't tell them what to think.

I'll bet taking the Lord's name in vain is permissible.

If I were still teaching, there is no way that I could keep from saying Christmas. So I guess I'd be in big trouble.

Yeah, don't promote the religion that made America great, promote religions that will make your country look like those models of 21st century civilization, Iran, Iraq, and North Korea. They don't allow you to say Christmas in public either.

This is what happens when you have The State involved in anything: it becomes impotent and caters to the lowest common demonitator, that is not 'offending' anyone.
People should demand the lowering of their property taxes to pay for this malarkey and send their kids to private schools.

According to the White Plains Journal News, interim Superintendent Angelo Petrone had issued a memo last week stating that "decorations in the schools should be limited to 'Happy Holidays' or 'Season's Greetings.'"

Screw that. MERRY CHRISTMAS YOU HAPLESS CREEP!

"Congress shall make no law respecting an establishment of religion, or prohibiting the free exercise thereof ..." Don't teachers have to learn to read?

How about people demanding the resignation of all school board members in this district as an added option? And while they're at it, make sure this bozo socialist principal loses his job as well.

Powell says the policy is designed to protect all students and make them feel safe in their environment, adding "not everybody is a Christian.

The above statement is not accurate. The policy is only designed to protect the school district from the parents of the 3 students who might freak-out at the thought of their children inadvertantly hearing something about the real Cristh-Mas.

About 86% of Americans will admit that they are Christian, if pressed. The other 14% of the population can just deal with it.

At a time when Americans of many faiths – and even no faith – gear up to celebrate Christmas this year, a first-grade teacher in Sacramento Co., Calif., says she's been ordered by her principal not to utter the word "Christmas" at school.

Right. But filtering out hardcore pornography from the school computer room is 'censorship.' We live in bizarro-world.
