"The Criminoles are always gettin' uppity...uppity the river that is. I'll still pull for them, for the conference you know. They are going to get slammed though, no matter how loud I yell at the TV."

The *Criminoles* ha ha, I love it. Very apt and they NEVER get caught!

"Bobby and FSU are has-beens in denial. And his boy thats coaching the Tiggers ain't never going to amount to nuthin' either."

Isn't Bobby's boy a TeeVee commentator now and isn't Tommy Tuberville coaching the Tiggers?

Little Tommie Bowden, but I doubt he has much longer. One season max. I know another clever name for the 'Noles that a Hokie that I used to work with gave them, but I don't know if I ought post it. It's a little nasty.

The 'Hoos beat that one like a drum too. He's a TeeVee mouthpiece now because the 'Hoos walloped him in the season opener at Auburn (I was there too). A few more losses and he had to sneak out of town at night in the middle of the season.

West Virginia governor asks UVA for an apology

During the Cavaliers-Mountaineers matchup at Charlotte, N.C., Virginia's independent pep band staged a parody of ``The Bachelor,'' with a male Virginia student choosing between two female contestants.

One female, purported to be from West Virginia, had blue overalls, pigtails, a talent for square dancing and a dream to move to Beverly Hills, Calif. -- a reference to ``The Beverly Hillbillies.''

Why should UVA apologize for their honest portrayal of West Virginny??

"...they NEVER get caught!"

Au contraire, IMHO...I just watched an ESPN special on the Noles' season and they definitely had to overcome some adversity this year. McPherson, Rix, some all-everything DT all got kicked off the team...and FSU punished most of these kids on their own accord, not the NCAA's. And think back about Warren Sapp--or was he Miami?--and his pot-smoking or Peter Warrick and his shoplifting...sure they get caught, and punished. Coach Bowden made the argument that these occurences happen everywhere but we focus on the programs that are the most successful. There's a little bit of truth to that, but I also believe it's deeper and many of the SuperBlueChip athletes create this sense of self-entitlement from being superstuds since Junior High. Heck, UVA hoop's has a sophomore guard (Harper) who was suspended for the first few games this year after getting a DUI, last years' QB Spinner simply stopped going to classes before transferring to U of Richmond, and a coupla years ago we lost three football players who beat up some other students in a drunken binge.

These are still teenagers and teenagers do STOOOOPID things...MUD
