I don't know where coos bay is, but there is a link to the weather bouys off the coast of Oregon. You need to click on the bouy's number to get the weather data and wave height.

It appears that the 20' waves are persisting.

Coos Bay is about in the middle of Oregon coast, a little to the south side past halfway down. Maybe 100 miles north of the CA border.

It's worth noting that those bouys are reporting about a 20 foot swell, but also about a 10 foot wind driven sea on top of that. For those unfamiliar with such things: Swells are waves coming in from somewhere else. Seas are caused by winds right where you are.

What this means is that since they are both pretty big, it makes for a very chaotic waveform. Sometimes they'll add together for the occasional 30 footer, and since they're almost always coming from different directions, they make for a nasty unpredictable monster beating on the outside of the boat.
