I talked to all 4 of them before they got underway. They knew what to expect and gladly went. 3 Brothers and 1 Sister, all in their early 20's. They will be in for one hell of a night. When I was in the Navy I used to make fun of "coasties" until I saw that they went out in the very same conditions I went out in, but they were aboard a ship ONE-TENTH the size of the one I was on.
Prayers for them, AYE!!

One of the old unofficial mottos of the Coast Guard was
"You gotta go out. You don't have to come back."

I spent 3 years on the same destroyer which was about 300' long.
I spent a lot of days in rough seas on her.
I've been out on this 52' a few times in "somewhat" "rough" seas, 48-8 ft waves.
30-40 ft waves in a destroyer is bad enough, but on a 52' it has to be really bad.
Like I said, I talked to all 4 before they got underway
and all knew what to expect and gladly left.
I know them, their wives (and husband) and kids.
I'm honored to serve with them
and the other crew members on the base each week.
