I am trying to get someone to post the racist words he used that I cannot find.
Obviously, you have read Lott's statement and your feigned naivete is in the service of making your point that Lott's statement is not intrinsically racist. I see no point in humoring you. You know what he said as well as I do.
I don't know if Lott intended to make a racist comment, and I've said as much. But if indeed he did not realize that what he said would have obvious racist implications, it only demonstrates once again that he is politically clumsy. If he did intend to support Thurmond's segregrationist platform (which he claims he does not), then he's a racist. So, take your pick. A bigot or a moron?

How does it feel to be on the side of the racist Jesse Jackson and Al Sharpton? Jesse Jackson's "Hymietown" was racist.
Al Sharpton's "interlopers" was racist.
Bill Clinton signed proclamations commemorating the Confederacy as governor of Arkansas, and his hero/idol was William Fulbright, racist.
Al Gore's father made the help stay in the car when he dined in "White Only" restaurants, then voted against the Civil Rights Act of 1964 (passed by Republicans led by Everett Dirksen)--
And Al Gore had a limit, a quota on blacks on his Secret Service detail.
Hillary had her famous, "F---ing Jew B-st-rd!" line for Bill's campaign manager.
Somehow I think the North Korean Scuds and nukes, and Saddam's nerve gas pass to the al Qowards rates more attention than Senator Lott's birthday speech for the retiring Strom Thurmond.
Strom Thurmond wasn't the Klan leader Byrd was--now there's a truly repugnant racist.
For a true appreciation of Jesse Jackson, SHAKEDOWN: exposing the real Jesse Jackson, Kenneth R. Timmerman, Regnery, 2002.
I'm not taking my marching orders from a piece of crap who should be doing a hundred years in federal prison for tax crimes, scamming taxpayers to bed his bimbos and buy his limos, and embracing African dictators who cut the hands off children and payoff the likes of the not-even-a-reverend with bloody diamonds mined on the backs of black slaves.
When did Clinton resign for giving our missile guidance secrets to the ChiComs so they can target us accurately?
The politics of personal destruction lost in 2000, despite all the fraud and dirty tricks Armand Gore's crew could dredge up.
I have tuned out the din of the Jennings and Rathers on the topic of Lott.
Jennings is a Canadian bitter that Richard Cohen diddled his wife, and Rather was pinned like a butterfly by Bernie Goldberg's Bias.
Oh, and Kerosene Maxine. Now there's the one driving the mob, the one with the portfolio with Solomon Smith Barney Frank.

If the Republicans force Lott out it will be because we are admitting that he`s a racist. Dan Blathyer is NOT GOING TO SAY THAT LOTT GOT KICKED BECAUSE HE`S STUPID.
Do you really think that throwing the rats a little red meat[Lott] is going to get Tiny Tom on GWB`s side?

Losing is Good?,P. Rush tells a story about a Senate race in California in the 80s--Ed Schow[sp] vs. Alan Cranston, Ratboy---Schow was pro choice and lost cause the conservatives stayed home. Cranston, big time pro abortion went back to the Senate and lead the fight that destroyed Bork.
Yeah, that old losing is good, what a concept...for losers

Again, the first 6 months of the new congress are *the_MOST_critical* to get anything positive done before the next election cycle starts. Why would we want the buffoon, that is ONLY interested in himself, to lead us down a path of near certain defeat to Hillary in '04? If you don't think that this is all leading to a scenario where this administration gets soo screwed and the GOP so weakened that Hillary could actually win, then we are all fooling ourselves. The Lott needs to do the right thing, right now and this all can be forgotten in 6 months, after meaningful, impacting legislation gets passed.

We would lose a lot more if Lott stayed.
Sorry to break it to you, but he wont be leader much longer. This is over.
To: McGavin999
If you don't think more on the Lott is going to come out from here until the cows come home or he isn't in the leader slot, I've got some ocean front property in Idaho I'd like to deal with you...
To: Orion
"If I were in Lott's position, that's exactly what I would do. If the WH wants to use me as a punching bag for political cover with people that will NEVER vote GOP, I would call their bluff."
You would. The Lott threw a hand grenade at the WH and is fortunate Bush doesn't kick his pansy a**.
To: BuddhaBoy
The Lott is definitely the topic...again...Sunday morning...and the next Sunday morning...and the next Sunday morning.
To: dfwgator
It's the vote of confidence outwardly that precedes the shuffling that follows. All done behind closed doors from this point on.
Q for the Lott: "Hey, oh vacuous one. Do you realize that by staying on board as leader, you are ruining the agenda, Bush's 2nd term and the GOP? There are many pressing issues right now and you shouldn't be one of them."
To: dfwgator
That's my best guess. The Lott wants this over by Christmas almost as bad as Bush does.
To: bybybill
Yes, and they're wishing they'd stopped him the first time like they knew they should. Now we know why Gramm left the Senate.
To: Poohbah
Kneepad Brigade is too kind. Every scenario that has Bush and the GOP surviving to fight again leaves the Lott out of the leader's slot and in the Senate. Bet your butt that the entire Bush 1 and 2 politicos will make sure that the Lott understands all this by end of day tomorrow.

Wah.

From your lips to God's ears...
To: ApesForEvolution
Wah. Don't start with me tonight.
To: Poohbah
Well said. The world of cyber politics clashing with reality is never pretty and defeat looks to be a Lott easier for some to watch.
To: Poohbah
TLB is 15 years old. Old enough to type and yet dumb enough to fall for every stupid thing that the Lott hangs on the future of America.

"So, take your pick. A bigot or a moron?"
Trent wants to know if there are any other choices?
