"We shouldnt harangue the left over Clinton and Jackson now...we should've crucified them then..."

Get rid of Lott now, but make a mental note to ride the next HymieTown/TawanaBrawley incident in the same manner. That sounds reasonable, except: no one who's calling for Lott to go is being accused of being an anti-white racist. However, if you tried to clamp down on Jesse Jackson, you'd be immediately called a racist. Much like the pro-immigration lobby accusing anyone who's against illegal immigration of being a xenophobic racist.

So, there need to be structural changes as well to make it easier to discuss matters like these without being smeared as a racist.

No, if Lott has to go, then purge them all now. The lesson from the Lott affair is that there is no statute of limitations on allegedly racist thoughts. That means that Byrd is liable, Hollings is liable, Jackson and Sharpton are liable, Clinton (both of them) is liable, etc.

If a line is being drawn in the sand, then it applies to everyone.

Take them all down with Lott.
