Their views should carry extra weight.

Why? Are they more moral or ethical than whites? More intelligent? Sounds racist to me. Better to judge the worth of a man's views on his knowledge of the subject and the content of his character, than on the color of his skin.

Because it only makes sense. I guess I'm assuming that black conservative interests ARE ALREADY the same as white conservative interests. However, they are uniquely in a position to be most offended by Lott's remarks. Whites are not. Therefore, their opinion holds more weight with me on this subject. Black liberals are motivated to trash Lott for his politics. Black conservatives like his politics and can judge the comments on their real merits.

I was not the one insulted (or potentially insulted, depending on your interpretation). I want input from those who share my politics but might have been offended. What Thomas Sowell, Armstrong Williams, J.C. Watts, Rev. Petersen, Alan Keyes, Larry Elder, etc...have to say on this subject matters to me.
