Lott was at a birthday party and made a few stupid comments.

His comments went way beyond stupid. For cryin' out loud, the Dixiecrats were one of the most despicable political movements in this country's history. Among other things, they opposed a federal law banning LYNCHING. They and their ilk forever tainted the noble concept of state's rights by trying to wrap it around their racist positions. And Lott said we might have avoided some "problems" if the rest of the country had followed Mississippi's lead and voted for Strom. That's just insane. Someone that dense, that oblivious to history and political sensitivities is not qualified to be the party leader in the Senate.

This is real simple. This isn't about the Dixiecrats! That was 1948 and this is almost 2003. This is all about the liberal establishment seeing an opening and taking advantage of an opportunity to blow a minor event out of proportion. This is America's liberal elites spreading their political correctness and employing their race baiting tactics for political gain. You've fallen for their rhetoric and their efforts. Too bad.

Oh, yes, "political sensitivities" are indeed a major issue to democrats (who don't vote for us) and for blacks (who don't vote for us, either).

And you're missing the context. The speech was made at a birthday party. It was a joke. And, as we all know, jokes are not supposed to be taken seriously.

How Republicans have been tied to the Democratic South with this little speech should be the subject of an entire book. When Thurmond was running, you couldn't find a Republican in the South. And this is somehow *our* problem?

Liberals want to make it our problem, sure, but it wasn't then and it isn't now.

Key word here is "WERE", as in past history.

Currently, as in "TODAY" , the Democratic Socialists of America,, 56 members who are in congress NOW,, have basically sworn an oath to destroy the constitution and turn America into a socialist nation.

Talk about OUTRAGED,, we're dwelling on some stupid comments taken out of context to destroy a staunch Republican, and still we allow these race baiters to tell us who we should have as a leader.

Stand up and tell these socialists to go piss up a rope.
