West Bloomfield bulk e-mailer Alan Ralsky, who just may be the world's biggest sender of Internet spam, is getting a taste of his own medicine.

Ever since I wrote a story on him a couple of weeks ago he says he's been inundated with ads, catalogs and brochures delivered by the U.S. Postal Service to his brand-new $740,000 home.

Misspellings will usually be delivered too: Rallski

Given his utter lack of respect for other people's property, "Comrade Ralski" would be apropos.

He claims not to [send porno spam]

Rule 1: Spammers Lie.
Rule 2: If a spammer says he's telling the truth, see Rule 1.

But were something bad to happen to him and his kind, there would be little sympathy, and not a few celebrations.

The good news: A hall hosting a spammer convention was bombed by terrorists.
The bad news: Some seats were empty.

Of course, it would not be nice to go HERE (scroll down) and use such information to get rid of all those cards that fall out of magazines or to pass along said information to others. Terrible way to spend a snowy day. It would just be wrong. Shouldn't do it. Nope.

Concerning my above post, I tossed the fall out cards from magazines in the fireplace and fixed another cup of hot chocolate. The spammer isn't worth it and FReepers don't do such.

Wonderful morning up here on the mountain.

As a member of the Bar your comments are appreciated for what they represent: A general disaffection of the public for the legal profession. However, it is also apparent that you may have never faced a legal problem which represented a possible 'life or death' outcome. I pray you will never be forced into such a position. Because most attorneys can detect hostility, even subtle negative impressions, through their clients evasions and answers to probing questions. There is a vast difference in undertaking a truly dedicted effort on behalf of a client, and simply avoiding the obvious pitfalls that might result in a claim for legal malpractice.

Your screen name 'Of Magog' is highly offensive. Is that an intentional affectation, or merely a simple 'Mortimer Snerd category of mistake?'

My wife is amused that you find her place of birth "highly offensive." I'm not sure what you were otherwise attempting to say, other than it perhaps had something to do with your diagnostic abilities. Have a nice day.

Joking about murder is never funny, as you're seeing.

In response to your inquiry, I hit the FR Abuse button (one appears below every post) and reported you to FR's moderator, and to no one else. He decided to delete your perfectly appropriate post. I didn't need to inform you that it was I who had complained--it was merely a lark. (Little did I suspect it would become so entertaining.)

So, if anyone else comes after you, it isn't my fault, although if you keep this sort of thing up it won't be too surprising if someone does. For example, perhaps you're aware that joking on an airliner that you have a bomb is a federal crime. Joking that you're going to assasinate a certain high government official--use your imagination--will get you a prompt visit from the biggest U.S. Secret Service Agents you ever saw. But you already knew that....

"Joking about murder is never funny, as you're seeing."

What I'm seeing is that you lack a sense of humor.

It's good to know that you aren't a _complete_ rat.
And yes, it has been entertaining.

I'll make sure to keep copies of all these posts just in case I do get a visit from the 'biggest' U.S. Secret Service Agents I ever saw. I'm sure they'll be able to differentiate between what _I_ said (e.g. what can be attributed to me) and what I so obviously attributed to someone else.

Cheers!

Cheers to you, also. I don't wish you ill--quite the contrary.

My only beef was that you didn't make it clear enough you were quoting--you had that responsibility and came up short. Being misunderstood is obviously a problem with all communicating--ask Trent Lott--but internet posts stand by themselves and are tough to clarify once made. I know that, of course, because I learned it the hard way.

Merry Christmas
