It's amazingly dumb. If I were inclined to apply evolution to politics -- which is a goofy idea -- I don't think I could make it jibe with the welfare state. But let the creos make their wild accusations. It only reinforces the perception that they don't do too well in the abstract reasoning department.

The fact is that most liberals believe in evolution. That's why Gore and ACLU are on your side instead of Bush. They are afraid of any measure that encourages private and homeschooling because they can't impose their evolutionary theory on children who leave the public schools.

Who controls our schools? Conservatives? Who is fighting against alternatives to evolution being taught in the schools? The predominantly left wing bureaucracies that run our schools. In addition, evolution is the basis for the scientific materialism of Communism and atheism in general and those are not conservative dogmas.
