Right. Maybe we should stress why they are willing to risk my life and the lives of my family with their "negotiate" stance.
I think they just like the limelight in a controversy with the President of the United States. Makes them feel as if they too are a power player. In reality they are ignorant and show it.

Wondervixen has it right.
Look at the line-up. What you have, for the most part, are B-List entertainers between gigs or past their prime.
While I don't doubt the sincerity of their foolish convictions, I suspect none of these clowns will object to the publicity the petition will bring them. A little notoriety might even help a few of the flagging careers represented in the letter.
I think it also instructive that prominent Hollywood leftists like Julia Roberts, Tom Hanks and Steve Spielberg haven't lent their names to this enterprise.
My hunch is the trio share the views expressed by the 100. Nonetheless, all three enjoy widespread commercial popularity. Why risk that in a backlash from Main Street theatergoers and video renters who probably support war against Iraq?
By contrast, the signatories are either known as much for their liberal activism as their acting (and thus were long ago immunized against backlash) or niche performers whose narrow constituencies will either overlook this statement or agree with it.
