Phyllis Benning of the Institute for Policy Studies (IPS) appeared on a TV talk show a few months ago during which she claimed that no link between Al-Qaeda and Iraq was established. Yet, a couple of days earlier I watched an edition of CBS

Reference Belafonte, Weiss and SANE, note chapter titled SANE: From Center to Left, in Guenter Lewy's "The Cause that Failed: Communism in American Political Life", Oxford, 1990, pp. 224-249.

Bookmarked.

Thanks for the Ping. I have book marked this for my sister to read. She voted for Nader in 2000. She thinks its funny that I "organise" with other conservatives on FreeRepublic, claiming that the left is a completely unorganised group of like minded anti-authority "eco-peaceniks."
I am giving her "Radical Son" for Christmas. Thank God for FrontPageMag and David Horowitz.

Communism is alive and well. It has been repackaged, renamed, dispursed into a variety of groups, and is getting ready for a push. I can imagine these groups becoming powerful if something goes wrong on the war on terrorism. Most of the world has a lemming mentality.

Can't choose your relatives...8^P

claiming that the left is a completely unorganised group of like minded anti-authority "eco-peaceniks."Just curious. Has your sister ever READ the Green party platform? I know for a fact that many Greenies have not.
Print that out for her and ask her how that platform is ever going to be implented and enforced without more "authority" behind it than she ever imagined in her wildest dreams...
(I know she's probably going to say "By that time society will have advanced to the point where we all do these things glady, of our own free will, for the greater good" but I doubt she'll really believe that herself :D)

Thanks! I have bookmarked this.
Congress needs to make it illegal for any non profit to donate money to politicians or to a political party.
These Rat/Communist/Socialist/Watermelon non profits serve as political havens for those who hate America and as huge money laundering machines to get money to their favorite candidates and political parties from the Greens to the Rats.
To: Dutchgirl
Unfortunately you are probably wasting your time with your sister.
If we listen to a conservative on the radio or visit Free Republic, we are members of the VRWC.
They can donate money, work in the offices, in the trenches and do things that are not legal to elect their people with their efforts being controlled/coordinated by one of these left wing organizations, and they are not part of any organized group in their eyes!
I have given up all hope on anyone past the age of 39 who is a leftist and belongs to any of the groups listed here plus the Watermelon Jihadists. They hate America/Americans and work 24/7 with their organizations to weaken and destroy it!

She lives in Tallahassee, a liberal enclave of unionized state employees, career politicians, tenured professors, Hari Krishna's and drunk students. No one else challenges her to support any of her "far out" political beliefs. She is also a strict and annoying vegetarian.
She comes to live with me one week each month for her medical care...as the care available to her in Tallahassee is crap. Then she and my liberal hubby try to gang up on me, with lots of emotion and very little facts. For me, the battle is fiercely engaged, because my kids are watching.
Free Republic provides me with plenty of ammo for my arguments, and I appreciate the suggestion, re: Nader. The drivel coing from his mouth the day of the "Patriots Rally II" was a real eye opener for my hubby, who also voted for Je$$ie Jack$on a few primaries ago. I think I mentioned on a previous thread that he has agreed to no longer vote.
To: Dutchgirl
Yes, you did mention that, LOL.
You just keep battling your sister. For the children... ;D

I haven't given up on her because she is fiercely pro-life.
I have a bumper sticker on my car that says "Proud Member of the Vast Right Wing Conspiracy." She asked me very seriously what the "VRWC" is and I explained that we are a subversive group that believe in God and want our taxes cut.
On the days that she visits me at work, we listen to Boortz and Rush together, and for the most part, she laughs along with me. Unfortunately, last week, Rush went off about "low sperm count and men's bicycles" and lost an opportunity to convert.
I think she is gullible and deluded. She would like to say that Republicans are mean and uncompassionate, but her personal experience with me gives the lie to that. Don't give up on your lefty friends. They pride themselves on being "open." You, as a conservative, must pride yourself on loving the truth. ;)
