Segregation was accepted in the south when Thurmond championed it. And he later personally recanted his views, which many of our founders never did regarding slavery.

I can see that by the hysteria over his innocuous comments. And given the fact that liberals are on the prowl 24 hours a day looking for a statement they can twist into an allegation of racism, how do you propose we appease them? The Congressional Black Caucus considers anti-crime bills and tax cuts to be racist.
