Yes, I am. While they are not technically white, they are not black, and aren't consolation to a constituency that makes up nearly a fifth of this country. Point taken, though.

Uhh, 13% isn't "a fifth." Nor is it "nearly a fifth."

And your premise would seem to be that there's some legal or institutional hurdle to a black person running for the Senate. There isn't, and plenty have run. We just haven't chosen one lately. And the sky hasn't fallen. Imagine that.

Maybe you're ready to go the route of affirmative action for Senators, but I'll stick with good old fashioned elections thanks.
