Catholic Bashing again?

I'm not bashing ALL Catholics, just you. I find you to be a hypocrit when you accuse the President for being an "indecent Christian" because he sent a "Holiday card" rather than a Christmas card. But you refuse to admit that Catholic priests who are pedophiles and have sexually abused young boys, are "indecent Christians."

You are so out of touch with reality it's pathetic.

BTW, I got one of the cards and I'm honored. I think President Bush is a good and honorable man. And guess what!--my opinion is based on personal conversations.

What are your thoughts on Cardinal "Above the" Law?

Sent by a so-called Christian...

And what 'board' do you sit on that gives you the insight and preogative to usurp the power of God in the judgement of men?

I sincerely wish for you humility...

May love and peace
fill your heart and home
during this holiday season
and throughout the new year.

Oh, if only we could have the Clinton Christmas card, with the cartoony Christmas tree.

Of course, there wouldn't be any scripture, but that would be a by-goly Christmas card!

I am convinced that there are democrats who frequent these threads, having read Terry McAuliffe's "Ten Ways to Sound Conservative on the Internet."

Oh, and for those like Coleus who think I am anti-Catholic, my daughter, two sisters, one niece, and two nephews are Catholic converts.

You missed the point! I was trying to make people see that sending a card from A GOVERNMENT is not the same as your personal cards to your family.

Excuse me ... but wouldn't you be offended if I sent you a tape of people praying in tongues, since your church teaches that such a thing is of the devil ...???

Are you getting the point now?? I speak in tongues, but I don't shove it in other people's faces, especially when they don't believe in it.

I believe the life you live, and your conduct toward others, says more about your faith than all the stuff you can spout. I've heard a lot of people quote the Bible, but that doesn't mean they really believe it or that it plays a real part in their life.

I learned that Christmas was a national holiday in the 3rd grade,

It seems that your education stalled out at that time as well.

I guess you don't want to answer the question about your beliefs. Not surprising.

"I agree, Bush does not live by the Bible"

Excuse me ...??? You are waaaaaaay off base on this one!

I wasn't talking about Bush at all - where did you get that from my comments?

In fact, Bush lives more of the Bible than most people.

The thread is about a dull and boring Christmas Card.

No, m'dear, it WAS about a Christmas card. That's what the dear Freeper who started it, meant it to be. It's turned into another Bush Bashin' Thread.

I ask, yet again, what is YOUR purpose on earth as a Christian???? Your calling?

I prefer this year's.

Hopefully, next year's card will have a picture taken this year by Barney Cam.

Even the psalm is generic.

Wow! I had no idea that God's everlasting mercy and truth were generic. Your God's too small.

What I should have said was, the Bible quote is not specific to the birth of Christ. I'm sure there are any number of Bible quotes that refer to the birth of Jesus, the birth of a Savior, etc etc, that would have been more appropriate.

People are so nitpicky around here.

And I have a husband and 2 children who are Catholic. But probably not the 'correct' type of Catholic.

I agree 100%. And based on this thread, there are some who seem to believe that they can puff themselves up with (false) pride because THEY know the real truth. They can righteously sit in judgement on those who don't toe the line of THE REAL Christian ideals.

Makes me glad I don't have a need to build MYSELF up by tearing others down. That's a sure sign of a person insecure in their own beliefs. I prefer to leave MY judgement in the hands of God.....and not suffer these fools to play God at my expense.

Careful, Coleus. There's lots and lots of people reading these threads. Maybe even folk who WERE wondering about Christianity.

This type of put-down on a CARD does absolutely nothing for their spiritual welfare.

THAT should be your (and mine and all of FR Christian's) first goal. Someone's spirituality.

And I pray YOU have a blessed Christmas, too. Now, maybe, can this thread die a natural death?????

I hope so, the "my comments" section is loaded with this White house Christmas Card thread. I just hope next year the picture looks nicer and mentions Christmas.

Merry Christmas
