The "N-word." WOW! We are so politically correct here on FR.

Rent "Gone With the Wind."

The democrazies hypocrisy is sickening. Since they don't any issues to grab the media's view, they're grasping at straws and making a media event. Frankly, Byrd being 4th in line of succession is downright scary.

Enjoyed reading your comments. I agree that it's about time people went on the offensive to counteract this obvious smear campaign against Trent Lott. The democrazies are trying to find an opportunity to gain the momentum back, and this is just another instance of trying to do just that in a negative way. Hope you don't mind but I copied your comments and forwarded to a host of Lott supporters with the hope they'll start circulating it.

Previously, I accidentally posted the same thing twice. Sorry! I enjoyed your comments so much that I also posted them on an AOL opinion website re GOP and Racism. I hope you don't mind. I really agree that the best defense is a good offense. Your comments make that truism quite clear.

You are absolutely right. It is never mentioned anymore that the Ku Klux Klan had one of their largest rallies in history at the 1924 Democratic National Convention in New York. Klan members made up a huge segment of the delegates at that convention. NY Governor Al Smith led a minority faction of the delegates, who proposed a resolution distancing the party from the KKK. The Klan delegates united and defeated the resolution. Shortly afterwards some 20,000 Klansmen descended upon a field outside of New York City to celebrate their victory at the Democrat convention. They cursed effigies of Smith, spewed racist hate, and ended the thing with a giant cross burning. It got national news back then, appalling many ordinary citizens who then elected Republican Calvin Coolidge in a landslide. The history books and the media have ignored the Democrat's infamous "Klanbake Convention" of 1924 ever since.

TY for the kind words. More bad news coming out about Lott tonight. He was a segragationist in college. But since you, Rush, Hannity, and many others have been on the counter-offense, we are not in as weak a position tonight as we otherwise would have been. For just one moment I thought Lott should step down. However, now I think he should play 'Let's make a deal' with Hillary [who made an anti-semite rant at least one time], Hollings, Byrd, and possibly others. They should drop their committee chairs in exchange for him stepping down as majority leader. If they want him to resign, they should resign themselves to prove their point. Fair is fair.

BTW, I have spoken to people I work with about this with a variety of demographic viewpoints. FReegards....

Hillary Clinton used the phrase "fu**ing Jew bastard" when speaking to a Clinton campaign staffer who was Jewish. Bill Clinton himself has often use the phrase "the ni**er vote." Senator Robert Byrd, a former Klansman, recently used the word "ni**er" twice on national television.

Al Gore's father was a senator and a segregationist. Bill Clinton's mentor in Arkansas, Senator William Fulbright, was also a segregationist.

The Democrats have been sheltering their own racists for a very long time. And now they're want Trent Lott to resign because he said "all these problems." Their hypocrisy knows no limits. Racism only matters to them because it's useful for bashing Republicans.

Lott isn't stupid. No GOP senator is stupid. The rats would eat him alive if he were.

Arthur - I think u r wrong. I think Lott is stupid and worse, after all. If by now you've read his 3rd apology, you will have noticed he apologized at length for the segregationist sentiments of his remarks, admitting that as he gets older he makes mistakes and continues to learn lessons about "tolerating others".

As you can see, the Rats are eating him alive, while Republicans serve the whine. Lott's position is simply untenable.

He pled guilty and apologized. The point is he was guilty and Republican credibility on the crucial electoral issue of racial reconciliation was put on the line. Lott must lose; he would do well to salvage his seat for the balance of this, his final Senate term.

Lott shouldn't have survived Clinton's Senate acquittal anyway. He gave the worst president in history a pass for no good reason. And he rolled over again and again for the Democrats on every issue. When did Lott ever lead? I say fk 'em.

The hour I heard about his college days, I decided that he should be in the same boat with Byrd, Hollings, and possibly Hillary. When I first made that thread, the hypocracy was even more amazing.

Bill Clinton's mentor in Arkansas, Senator William Fulbright, was also a segregationist.

And Clinton gave a special medal to Fulbright, the highest honor that can be given to a US civilian. Very few of these medals are passed out, as I understand it.

"Yeah well you need to read more and whine less. Byrd recently used the 'white ni##er' remark. Not to mention, he filibustered a key civil rights vote in the 60s. Does that sound like his heart really changed when he left the Klan?"

HA!!
As usual, Art.
You're right as rain.

Unfortunately I *don't* think it's gonna matter with all too many 'round here.
For in a nutshell the bell has already rung; &, the hounds?

...they're madly salivating so.

You've got some good stuff here. If I may offer some suggestions, I suggest you just list the information and the link to the source for brevity.

There are many instances of left racism. Remember the democratic congressman who dressed up in blackface? He said he only did it once and it was a mistake, but then it was found out he did it more than once. And remember the white democrat congressman who dragged a little black kid by the neck across a school yard? And the FJB remark? And of course Robert Byrd and LBJ as you posted.

There is a lot of dirt on the democrats. It needs to be compiled and posted in brief, with the source material available by link.
