Tell you what though, if they try to pull something, I may have to kiss my wife goodbye, grab my Remington 700 and Taurus .40 and drive the 14 hrs to southern Arizona.
You should go anyway. The feeling of accomplishment that you'll get will be priceless. The folks down there are some of the most down to earth, laid back people you'll ever meet. Just don't ever try to BS them, they can smell that comin'. I went for a week to a private ranch in AZ, and I never even saw an illegal. But, I'm pretty sure that none got by me while I was on watch in my sector.
The border is beautiful country, and the peace and quiet compared to FL was awesome.
And you will never see stars like that in the urban areas.
