This old fart was a real piece of work.I'll let the guys who did some verbal sparring with him tell you more. I was most impressed with his great skill in performing the nazi salute, almost too skilled. A closet nazi? Something to think about.
And this guy yelled some things I didn't hear (I was far away taking photos), punctuating it with the single-finger salute as he stalked off. As he was being publicly rebuked for his ill-mannered antics, he turned and offered it again. And then he whipped out his most treasured piece of Clinton/Gore memorabilia - a "52nd Presidential Inaugural" poster. And they say we can't move on?
Next comes a series of photos of the seriously wacko guy in action. He came storming up to Raoul, screaming and shaking his book at doc (and he did hit you, Raoul - it happened too fast for me to catch it on camera, I'd never make it as a pro photog). I went around the side to take pics, and here they are in order of occurrence... Arms waving wildly.next... What was he ranting about anyway? I was focused on taking pics. next As the cop showed up. next Maybe the Prozac wore off early? next This officer remained calm throughout the "interaction," and finally got the guy back on this planet long enough to move him away and finally And he left without further incident.
This guy told us we had no right to be out here, among other things. And he really got angry when Doctor Raoul said that he never thought he'd see the day when a black man would support the infringement on another person's civil rights.
And now that I think about it, I didn't see more than a handful of people of color in attendance at the book signing. Let's hope that black people are rethinking their blind allegiance to the Democrat party; and are seeing that the dems are just using them for easy votes, and are the real party that wants to keep them dependent on the government
One of the "other things" he was screaming about was our collective Oedipal complex. I didn't catch all of it, begged him to repeat it, he refused.
Spiteful little spoilsport. Just like the DU Quintet at the other end of the bookstore, who refused to either sing louder so I could hear them, provide me with copies of their lyrics (even though they handed them out to other people), allow 'Pod to film them ("it's copyrighted!"), or take requests.
And we were so nice to them. Dr. Raoul even invited them over for hot coffee and a group hug.
That coffee really hit the spot, btw, I was freezing by four o'clock. Thanks.
