THE meth problem in Southern Indiana has been here for a LONG time. Over twenty labs have been closed in our county alone this year. None of them connected to influences outside the county. All LOCAL people with LOCAL habits. A big "diet" fad with young women. Man killed by officer less than a mile from my home trying to steel one of the ingredients from a local farmer.

Oh, I see, so now that illegal aliens and foreign nationals are bringing it into Indiana, it's really no big deal. That explains it!

Thanks for the insight. I feel better.

She's right. The meth trade doesn't need mexican assistance.

The two hard-to-get components are red phosphorus and anhydrous, both available to farmers as soil-rebuilders. Possession of either is a crime unless you are a registered customer - welders, fireworks manufacturers, farmers, industrial, etc.

Well, well, now we know what the Mexican Consulate is doing in Indianapolis.

Mystery solved. You don't see Polish, German, Irish and other Consulates going up all over the US. The Mexican government is extremely corrupt and it's common knowledge who in Mexico benefits from the drug cartels. The Consulates aren't going up because people eager to become Americans and assimilate into US culture would want or need them.

This is probably the one drug we don't want to legalize. Its use would be as common as coffee-drinking, and what's left of this country would truly go over the deepend.

First ---we might as well legalize it becaue the Mexican cartels/Mexican government can get any amount shipped anywhere in the US in a short time --and that's all going to become far easier with their trucks rolling into the entire US. Our DEA might be able to close up domestic meth labs but we're not going to begin to close them up inside Mexico where our law enforcement has no authority and the drug lords are in cahoots with their politicians. I don't see how it would be as common as drinking coffee because there are many people who won't do drugs like this. I'll OD on coffee maybe some day but I'm not tempted to try meth and never was. I'm sure the Mexican government would like very much to see the US destroyed but this stuff will destroy them first. You see many more problems in Mexico now because of their role as the world's drug lord, their whole society is unraveling because of it. It appears it's far worse to be the dealer than the user, something about that greed they get, they'll watch their own kids be blown to bits rather than give up all that money from drugs. A couple years ago the drug lord wars were going on and you just kind of sit back in horror and see what these families will do just for money.

That's nice but the ones in Mexico won't be closing and that's why it's mainly coming from their now. You should have just let yours stay open. Nothing much was gained by closing them, you'll have more meth than ever now.

Isn't it great to see the newly arrived Mexican immigrants in Indianapolis pushing this stuff?

Actually, with Meth, things are never good. It makes people go crazy.

I'm not saying it's a good drug but what's the point now in keeping it illegal? They got the biker gangs out of producing it for the most part, and American labs may be easy enough to bust and take down ---but meth will be on those Mexican trucks but Mexico already has very efficient means of distributing it along with all the cocaine and heroin and pot. Our agents can't shut down the meth labs in Mexico and the drug cartels do get the backing of that government. The drug war is a lost cause with open borders to that country which is the biggest supplier.

USA to Mexico: "We don't want your drugs. And we don't want your dregs." Any immigrants should be educated people able to pass an English fluency exam.

Mexico gets 30 Billion dollars a year from the U.S. in illegal drug money. At any time we want, we can make Mexico explode by cutting off that money. Only requires a pen and some huevos.

I take people as individuals. There is good and bad in every racial and ethnic group.

There are way too many illegal Mexicans here and legal ones too. There is no reason this nation needs to be merged with that rotten nation to the south. There is no reason to allow in so many legal Mexicans and Central Americans. Due 95% to family reunification.

Instead  we should be allowing in English speaking educated folks from around the world who would love to live here. It's idiocy to allow in the uneducated riff raff of the planet. We've been doing this for far too long. It's time for some balance, to do as Canada and Australia do. To allow in those with some fluency in English and job skills

This would sound like a pretty reasonable approach to me.I agree we need to be selective, and carefully regulate who enters the country. This country was founded on immigrants, but we can't continue to be the land of opportunity for third world countrys the world over and expect to take care of established citizens.

The LEGAL immigrants are here for opporrtunity. They are not doing anything wrong. I would respectfully argue that many immigrants in our history came to this nation not knowing English, and learned it subsequently.

Also, if you are only wanting highly educated, English-speaking immigrants, I think that there will be some objection from engineers, doctors, computer experts and others that perhaps these people would compete for the jobs they have invested their lives attaining.

I also object to your characterizing Mexico as "our rotten neighbor to the south." Your anti-Mexican feelings are poorly disguised, and are not consistent with a reasonable foreign policy.

Rather than attacking all Mexicans, and their country, we should be trying to figure out a reasonable way to get the immigration under control and actively enlisting Mexico in the effort. Your attitude is guaranteed to alienate a huge chunk of VOTERS in this nation, and will not accomplish anything but increased balkanization of our country.

Heh sounds like your plate of crow isnt going down to well is it? Our laws are being broken and the will of the people is being ignored. It is your arrogant attitude that you should be questioning.

Its nice to know that the drug cartels moving in doesnt matter because there were already drugs in the area anyway. I guess the gangs and murders they will bring with them wont matter because there were murders going on there before?

I had asked if it was a Mexican consulate or a consulate for the mexican drug cartel. I guess we have our answer.

I would respectfully submit that legal immigration should be cut of half and all illegal immigration should be eliminated, not tolerated We have enough illegal Mexicans, Central Americans, etc. to last us the next 25 years. And they're making offspring to keep filling the lower ranks. To do the crud work you're happy to see them do.

¿Comprende?

Did you bother to read my reply? Obviously not.

1. I do not support illegal immigration.
2. Although these arrested included Mexicans, it also included AMERICANS of Anglo heritage (read the list at the end of the story).
3. I do not see in this article whether those with Hispanic names are Americans of Mexican descent, legal immigrants, or illegal immigrants.
4. Since there has been a problem with meth in this state for a long time, for all you know these were Mexicans corrupted by the Anglos.
5. I do not retract anything I said, nor will I eat crow. This is my state, not yours, and I know what the conditions are here. We do not have a huge problem with the Mexicans, the illegals here should be caught and sent home, lawbreakers should be arrested (as these were), and I like the legal, law-abiding Mexicans who are here. They are polite, unlike many Americans I come in contact with, including people on FR.

Explain how to completely eliminate illegal immigration. I am assuming it also applies to the Chinese and Irish who also are coming in.

It can be gotten 90% rid of. Nothing is perfect. You start with 15,000 mobile troops on the Mexican border

I am assuming it also applies to the Chinese and Irish who also are coming in.

You betcha !!
