Specter was a Democrat during the administration of JFK. He became Republican about 1965. So if he switched, it would be back to his original party.

I'll bet you anything Specter and Chafee will switch. Both are extremely pro-abortion. Specter voted against Bork and said recently that he'd vote against anyone who thought would overturn Roe v. Wade. The only reason he came to Clarence Thomas' rescue was because he was up for re-election and needed to make up for what he did to Bork.
