1,400 shops

They get together and chip in 500 bucks each...

$700,000.00 will buy enough legal firepower to counter sue the scumbag firm for every dime they all made all put together, plus their homes Porsches, Rolexes, lakehouses AND pay for a full page ad in the LA Times warning any other law "firms"     they try this little bit of BS and they are next.

That would be justice.

Your idea raises all kinds of interesting possibilities that could extend beyond this (these?) case(s?).

A non-profit organization, with handsomely paid attornies (who have a conscious and have become sick of their cohorts) could be formed to do this on a more broad scale. Its sole function would be to nail the worst of the firms. Every time one of the firms launches a frivolous or extortion-like lawsuit (the headline grabbing ones), this non-profit goes after them with a vengeance. Not just a defense of the case at hand, but some other type of more aggressive counter-attack tactic. Headline grabbing stuff. Get a few tort reform oriented politicians behind them as well to increase their weight.

People would contribute if the organization received publicity. More than they would desire contributing to politicians.

I know there are a million things wrong with my idea and a million details that need answered, as the odds against them would be huge (the whole democrat party and trial lawyers trying to hurt them for instance). However, this is just a revolutionary big idea that would have to be executed by tireless idealists.

I'm too tired to think about a full blown plan, but anybody that wants to add to / modify / build upon this, feel free to chip in. Some entrepreneurial minded Freeper who hates lawyers can grab this grain of an idea and begin building upon it.

Come on Freepers, somebody out there who is smarter, gutsier, and has greater wherewithal then me, grab this and run with it.
