Your idea raises all kinds of interesting possibilities that could extend beyond this (these?) case(s?).

A non-profit organization, with handsomely paid attornies (who have a conscious and have become sick of their cohorts) could be formed to do this on a more broad scale. Its sole function would be to nail the worst of the firms. Every time one of the firms launches a frivolous or extortion-like lawsuit (the headline grabbing ones), this non-profit goes after them with a vengeance. Not just a defense of the case at hand, but some other type of more aggressive counter-attack tactic. Headline grabbing stuff. Get a few tort reform oriented politicians behind them as well to increase their weight.

People would contribute if the organization received publicity. More than they would desire contributing to politicians.

I know there are a million things wrong with my idea and a million details that need answered, as the odds against them would be huge (the whole democrat party and trial lawyers trying to hurt them for instance). However, this is just a revolutionary big idea that would have to be executed by tireless idealists.

I'm too tired to think about a full blown plan, but anybody that wants to add to / modify / build upon this, feel free to chip in. Some entrepreneurial minded Freeper who hates lawyers can grab this grain of an idea and begin building upon it.

Come on Freepers, somebody out there who is smarter, gutsier, and has greater wherewithal then me, grab this and run with it.

Ted Bell was sued by the Trevor Law Group for failing to completely wrap his foil wrapped baked potatoes in full.

Now, see, I think Trevor has nothing to go on here. How can you sue the inventor of fail wrapped baked potatoes for doing it improperly? I heard Bell claim that several times on Phil's show. Mr. Bell seems to be the Algore of the restaurant industry. LOL

Damn, I miss Phil's show, John & Ken, and even the "Latino Jew" LOL. Sometimes I catch Phil here in Phoenix when skip conditions are right. Very seldom missed a show when I lived in Simi.

But when they find out I'm now a computer tech, it's amazing how many "what if this was happening" scenarios they come up with.

Yeah, that really sucks doesn't it?

Oh, By the way, I keep getting a fatal error message every time I try to run Ghost Recon on my AMD 1700 Computer. I have an old Voodoo3 Card, and I think there might be some kind of conflict with the Video card that keeps me from running it. It runs fine on my son's Gforce4.

Any suggestions?

DID you follow the US Senate debate on the Homeland Security Bill?

Tommy Daschle and Debbie Stabenow and Barbra Boxer were clearly supporting the rights of attorneys to attack and damage whomeever they want.

I hope there will be such justice. It is obvious that those holding office are unable to govern. Indeed, my only fear being the American people do not have enough left 'inside' to engage in the administration of justice. We appear to be very disorganized and leaderless.

Federal enforcement of penalties against these kinds of tort attorneys is a must. They are simply out of control.

Much of our medical practices occur out of fear that an attorney would attack our livelihood if we didn't order a test.

If the President wants clear cut examples of how the DNC has failed to lead, he should focus on the ripple effects of this kind of legal group. They may claim they're lawyers, but their focus is only extortion.

We have plenty of cases where malpractice liability creates a need to practice defensive medicine. Instead of good communication, we have testing done to "prove" or "disprove" diagnoses. That is not the way medicine used to be practiced. It used to be that a doctor and family could talk about how a patient was doing. A simple trust level would improve health expenditures in this nation.

Yet, defensive medicine, created by the threat of ending one's career because one lawyer threatens you, occurs.

One need only study the US Senate debate on Homeland Security to see who (Tom Daschle/Debbie Stabenow/Hillary Clinton/Barbara Boxer) was backing the ability of trial attorneys to end US vaccine production.

These democrat senators claim that there is a right for their trial attorney friends to sue vaccine manufacturers.

Phil Grahm went to the floor and spoke the truth. According to the Senator from Texas the total amount of litigation against vaccine manufacturers in the US reached TEN TIMES the WORLD GROSS REVENUE for ALL VACCINES on EARTH.

Essentially, the trial attorneys are damaging US national security with their out of control behavior.

If the government can not intercede and control the members of the "judiciary", more substantial reform will occur because the people are fed up with the BS.

They use an old law to file on behalf of the public when there is no victim to be a plaintiff.

The private attorney general law is a good law, becuase it allows private citizens who are harmed by violations of law from private companies to seek redress when the government will not. But it should require a plaintiff.

One recent example of this law was the recent computer monitor settlement. Monitors used to say 19" when really it was only 17" viewable. A private action forced these companies to put the viewable area of monitors on the boxes so that consumers can make the proper decision.

I knew a lawyer who defended against one of these actions. Some lawyer, who used his mother as the plaintiff, sued a private company because the box that his product came in was much bigger than the product the box contained. He claimed it was misleading to use a tall box to sell a short product.

Good comments.

The lawyer industry is a collection of truly evil, corrupt, vile, rapacious, traitorous vermin. The legal industry spits on the Constitution and ethics. They regard themselves as being above the law. Lawyers steal and ruin lives without the slightest compunction.

These observations are shared by most Americans who regularly rate lawyers as having a level of confidence and respect at the absolute bottom of all professions and occupations.

I wonder how the Trevor Law Group plans to prove any of their cases if all of the complaints on the consumer website are anonymous. Unless, of course, California abolished the need for witnesses to prove lawsuits (I wouldn't be shocked).

Evidently they just hope the defendants will settle and not actually have to go to trial.
