Sounds like a risky neighborhood for a cop or your kid. Personally, I think marijuana should be legalized. I hate pot heads, they are just as dangerous as any other doper. I have seen plenty of pot related violence.
The marijuana dealers are just as much a danger to your children as any other druggie. I don't have children, but if you do or plan to, consider letting your teenage daughter hang out with that crowd. I don't like the creeps...
Sounds like someone who collects firearms to me. "old military weapons" may sound incriminating to some, but I'd be willing to bet they were Mausers or something similar.
