No, how does this Muslim know these statements no longer apply? Anyone with any common sense can read the OT and see who and what God is talking about when He is giving commands. The statements in the Koran are in the general sense, so where are the context clues that show it was talking about a specific situation?

Sinkspur, your neighbor sounds a LOT like my Muslim friend. And you're right. The Old Testament is filled with passages that are almost identical to the Koran.
