So nobody in the Reserves or Air National Guard served in 'Nam? I never served, but to me, if you serve, and take the risk you COULD go, that's enough for me. Once your in, WHERE you serve is largely out of your hands. Bush was in. 'Nuff said. Cheney had legal deferrments. 'Nuff said.

And someone mentioned callup of Guard and Reserve forces for Vietnam duty. It did not happen and was not about to happen. Thanks to LBJ. He wanted his "guns and butter" and couldn't have the butter if he got war declared and the reserves called up. So it was regular forces who did the work and we wondered why even HAVE the reserves if they would not use them. Only way for a reservist to get called up was for him to miss drills... I had one in my shop during a Carib float in '68. So it was KNOWN to be safe.
