Quick Heads Up: Did I Hear Right? Hackworth Called Cheney a Draft Dodger?

Bella, I am referring to Post#508, in which you said the following:

Now I have the proper answer. "Did Dick Cheney serve?" I'd shoot back. "Or Paul Wolfowitz and Richard Perle?" referring to the Bush Administration's two leading advocates of bombing Baghdad. "Was John Ashcroft ever in the military? Or GOP congressional leaders Trent Lott, Tom DeLay, Phil Gramm, Dennis Hastert or White House guru Karl Rove or Newt Gingrich or Rush Limbaugh?" Each of these worthies was eligible to serve in the Vietnam-era military, but none did. And how about John Wayne and Ronald Reagan of my father's generation, both of whom fought World War II in Hollywood backlots but, in defiance of fact, stand as symbols of the World War II "greatest" generation.

When I challenged you as to why you mentioned the above; all by the way Republicans and no Democrats, and why you didn't mention Bill Clinton as a Chicken Hawk, you reply with the following:

"Now I KNOW you're all wet :-) because I NEVER posted anything with these peoples names in it..And until YOU can show me that I did, I consider you and your rant ALL wet! You should check to see who posted what you're bitching about.."

Bella, you are either being obtuse or you have Alzheimers disease!
Either way, it's a waste of time trying to reason with you.

Why was post #598 removed? There was no profanity, slurs, or attacks of any kind. Please repost it. I challenged a liberal, and she apparently didn't like that...

Thank you for your very thoughtful response. I think you summed up the whole debate with your opening line: "It depends on how you define 'draft dodger.'"

As I was born after the war ended, I can't relate to much of the history and related politics. Though I highly respect all war veterans for their service.

A couple years in the military in combat arms would have been good for Cheney and good for the military he now rules .... Experienced military guys are justly resentful of leaders with no experience engineering PC in the DoD. That's probably lot of where Hack is coming from when he calls him a dd.
