...trouble making from someone at State is my guess.
Dumping Powell (and no, that's not impossible) would rid Bush in one stroke, of the lions' share of dissension in his administration.

Oh, I doubt this leak came from the Powell faction at State, more like an egotistic, lifelong bureaucrazy over there. The place is full of elitist wackos who think they know best. They're mostly just mid-level functionaries but fancy themselves irreplacable. Believe me, I'm not all that fond of Powell but I don't for a minute think he would condone this sort of nonsense.

Um, do purge the conservatives out, he would have to replace, Cheney first, which is not going to happen, and then Ashcroft, and then Rumsfeld, etc. Not going to happen, wouldn't be prudent. More likely, this is bull being spread. Heck Condi Rice was supposed to be the moderate between powel and Rumsfeld (Powell being the center, and Rumsfeld being the hard right with Condi being right of center), instead she became just as hard right as Rummy. You would need a purge that would look absolutley horrible to carry this out, it would look, perception wise, like people jumping off a sinking ship.

As long as he keeps Rove, he is showing his true colors as a liberal.
Sending Rove to California to destroy conservatives and take over the party to be run from DC is inexcusable and no accident, he hates conservatives and their philosophy.
Being raised in a family that has been against the US being an independant nation since before the revolution there is no way Bush can have a conservative philosophy.

Exactly. Karen Hughes is a wonderful woman..I can't imagine her doing this, even if she is part of the moderate faction.

Exactly. Bush has criticized some statements of conservatives on Islam, but my understanding is that Bush has never implied that he believes Muslims are going to heaven.

I'd like to see someone (
CONDI RICE) replace Cheney. But only because I'm greedy...I want the White House in 2008 & 2012 too!!
Rummy FOREVER!!!

Bush can not continue equating all religions, or he will suffer the same fate as David and Sol, Lot and many other of God's chosen. Please quote where Bush equated all religions.
This ought to really be a hoot!
Bush constantly invokes: "pluralism" - which is a philosophy which basically says: "your religion is as good as mine and mine is as good as yours - both are: true - valid - good - respectable etc."
Pilate was a pluralist and he succinctly articulated pluralism in the statement: "what is truth." rhetorically rejecting Jesus' authority - sounds tolerant? but then he proceded to have Jesus crucified.

President Bush is walking a fine line. He knows exactly what the real problem is, but can't bring the entire Muslim population into it. IMHO President Bush has a far broader view of the mideast, and a much more broader plan than just Iraq. The leftist press has blinders on.

It's beginning to look like the Republican rank and file can't handle success.

"This stuff doesn't even rise to the respectability accorded to innuendo." Notice how someone tries to get
these rediculous "rumors" started every few weeks. So dumb!!!

Pluralism - good ol' Meriam-Webster says: "a state of society in which members of diverse ethnic, racial, religious, or social groups maintain an autonomous participation in and development of their traditional culture or special interest within the confines of a common civilization b : a concept, doctrine, or policy advocating this state".
This does not say the same thing as "your religion is as good as mine and mine is as good as yours - both are: true - valid - good - respectable etc."
Autonomous participation means we don't burn down each other's churchs, we are polite to each other on the street, and we do our own thing "within the confines of a common civilization". It does not equate the values of each others religions - it means each group has their own religion and they leave the other alone.

Since when does the Washington Times print a wish list straight from the DNC?

Sol ? uh, would that be Saul of Tarsus who became Jesus' beloved disciple Paul or King Soloman ? Lot ? do you mean Lot's wife ?

Rummy isn't going anywhere. He's probably the most-admired member of the Bush administration by the public.
