A day in the life of President Bush (photos): 12/4/02

Another busy day for President Bush today as he signed a few new bills and hosted the lighting of the White House Menorah. The President signed the 'Anton's Law' which requires shoulder belts in addition to lap straps in the middle rear seats of vehicles. Bush also signed the Dot Kids Implementation and Efficiency Act, which creates a new kids-safe 'dot-kids' domain on the Internet that would contain only material appropriate for children under 13. After signing the bill, he took questions from the media, and once again stated that he is not optimistic regarding the inspections in Iraq. Meanwhile, First Lady Laura hosted Afghani teachers as they learn to become master teachers, who will eventually be responsible for training teachers back in their home country. Enjoy your daily dose of Dubya!

It's got to be so hard for them to sing when it's so cold - bet their voices aren't used to that.

I think it's Roy Clark playing Santa.

And it was cute what Barbara Eden said at the beginning, that it's her first time serving her new master, as she looked over at the President!

I kind tell by the sparkle in his eyes that Christmas is probably the President's favorite time of year. Mine too!

I love it! She's pretty good at ad libbing too ("I should have fixed that" with her folded arms and "Jeannie" blink after the microphone malfunctioned!)

Thanks rintense. It is almost freezing here, I've just made some hot chocolate, grabbed a plate of cookies and settled down for the rest of the day.... not sure how I'm gonna avoid a nap. LOL

Looks like Washington DC doesn't have to dream of a White Christmas, but Leann Womack is doing a wonderful job with the song.

Well, if Christmas came right now, Washington D.C. would have a white one.....I'm not so sure about Minnesota!

I am going to start listening to country stations when not listening to Fox or talk radio. They always come through for the President!

Well you still have 20 days until Christmas. You should get some snow by then, hopefully. The news said that Flagstaff is supposed to get a good snowstorm this weekend. Fingers crossed!

This fellow singing now is terrific--Steve Wariner, and the song he wrote is just beautiful. Another one I've never heard of, and I'm going to have to look for something of his on cd.

My brother got me listening to country a few months ago, which suprised me because he listens to a lot of punk. But the country artists definately know a thing or two about who to support, and they have done a wonderful job supporting President Bush.

Whoever planned this year's Pageant of Peace did an awesome job selecting performers. No complaints over here. And Hei Kyung Hong is very funny: "to show off my beautiful dress." O, Holy Night is my fave Christmas song.

Wow! A Christian testimony by the Chinese soprano, who is now singing Oh, Holy Night!

Isn't that something - it was beautiful! A beautiful voice and the Lord in her heart.

And she may think it's "not perfect singing" but it sounds angelic to me!

Hei-Kyung Hong was fabulous, and what a lovely dignified lady she seems to be. I hope this is re-run later for those who've missed this.

What a powerful voice, and extremely beautiful.

The President looks a little cold. Do you think the prez could join you for some hot cocoa, Darlin'?
