Ex-President Bill Clinton, who collected FBI files on political opponents, targeted witnesses against him with IRS audits and hired private detectives to intimidate his ex-girlfriends, complained Tuesday that the Republican Party had a political "destruction machine."
"They have a destruction machine. We don't have a destruction machine," Clinton told the Democratic Leadership Council in an address at New York University.
The ex-president charged that "extreme right-wing elements in the media" were responsible for smearing Democrats on national security issues, saying he was particularly dismayed by attacks on Senate Minority Leader Tom Daschle.
"What was done to Tom Daschle was unconscionable, but our refusal to stand up and defend him in a disciplined way was worse," he complained.
Clinton's own defense while under attack during the Monica Lewinsky scandal including recruiting private detective Anthony Pellicano, who was arrested two weeks ago after a dozen FBI agents discovered plastic explosives and hand grenades in his Los Angeles office while executing a search warrant in a witness intimidation case.
Four days after the Lewinsky scandal broke in January 1998, an old boyfriend reportedly located by Pellicano painted her as a stalker, claiming she had once boasted, "I'm going to Washington to get my presidential kneepads."
Other Clinton defense tactics included launching IRS audits into sex accusers Gennifer Flowers, Paula Jones and Elizabeth Ward Gracen, as well as rape accuser Juanita Broaddrick.
Sex assault accuser Kathleen Willey had her children threatened by name by a stranger who approached her on the eve of her Paula Jones testimony, in a case of witness intimidation that has never been solved.
In his recent book "On the Road with Hillary," longtime Clinton advance man Patrick Halley admitted that he regularly hired "goon squads" to break up demonstrations against former first lady.
While the ex-president did not publicly counsel Democrats to return to the strong-arm tactics he perfected over his thirty year political career, he was plainly upset that an "increasingly right-wing and bellicose conservative press" was now free to criticize his administration, legacy and party without fear of governmental retribution.

". . . GOP 'Destruction Machine'" Fact: the majority (if not all) of the democrats that Xlinton and his "spouse" campaigned for, lost on Nov. 5th.
So yes, Bill, I guess you're right. The GOP DOES have a "destruction machine" if, by this, you mean a device that results in the election of Republicans.
And the name of this destruction machine? C-L-I-N-T-O-N.

Nah, x42 has a bigger gut than that. :)
May x42 get introduced to another Bubba in cell block B, that will find perverse pleasure in treating x42 like he has treated so many women.

You got to be kidding!
That day passed with Trent Lott and the feckless GOP Senate giving the creature a pass. Sure his buddies had the votes to block conviction but so much more information would have become public and the Rats would have had to justify their votes to acquit.
Clinton will only be judged in history and if the left wing in academia retain control over education the public will never know what a slim ball he really was, beyond the girlfriend crap.
Nope, the GOP sealed Clinton's never wearing that jump suit.

This is a twist on Bill Clinton's existing mental illness. It's projection -- blaming others for your own faults.

It's encouraging to see Daschle, Gore, and now slick, bad mouthing the conservative media. Means they (conservative media) are getting the truth out there and it's killing the Dims.
Poor babies, they were so used to their BS being spoon fed to the public through their Liberal media minions.

I heard someone say that the bigger the lie, the more easily the public will believe it. Clinton must have read that one too.....

What an honest statement. Bubba can't punish his enemies with the power of the federal government anymore. However, that's a very damning comment.

That has never failed to amaze me. Clinton was inducted into the Black Hall of Fame. I'd post a photo of him in his little running shorts with those very white flabby legs, but that would be unkind. :)

"They have a destruction machine. We don't have a destruction machine," Clinton told the Democratic Leadership Council in an address at New York University. Didn't Clinton have a "War Room" and "Bimbo Squads"?
