Thanks for the information. Do you know if it was genetically engineered or altered in any way from the original variola genotype present at the outbreak in 1971?

My reason for asking is simple: the Russians supposedly didn't weaponize anything for which they couldn't develope a vaccine.

I understand they attempted an engineered smallpox by crossing the Indian I variola with Ebola but couldn't develope a workable vaccine, and destroyed the monster they had created.

Unless this Blackpox is really that monster.
