[history]
Michael Eisner has dropped a double bombshell on Walt Disney's shares by announcing a federal probe of its boardroom and a surprise earnings reversal.
The company last night said profits would be about 20 percent lower than it announced four weeks earlier, blaming a box office flop of its new holiday flick, "Treasure Planet."

EX-senator Mitchell is going to be a busy boy, between sitting on the Disney board and being the designated-Dimbulb on the 9/11 Investigation Committee.

I assume you mean the father, since they are both named Roy. The son, Walt's nephew, is now in charge of Shamrock, is he not?

Stanley Gold (mentioned above) was a lawyer in an office in Los-Angeles, which represented famous people in show business, amongst them Roy Disney.
Gold, who is a director in Walt Disney,
in 1985 was appointed president of Shamrock, the private investment company of Roy Disney and his family, and manager of a portfolio in a range of close to a billion dollars, most of which is invested in the United States, mainly in media, telecommunications, capital venture, real estate and various industries, and a third is invested in Israel

Looks like some trial lawyer needs to bring a RICO suit against the Mouse. If there's any such thing as a Republican trial lawyer still left.

Doesn't Disney also have a hand in the porn industry too?
Can't they just crank those profits up? (*Evil laugh at Eisner's expense*)

Disney also named Robert Matschullat, former vice chairman of Seagram Co. Ltd...Smart move. I can stand "It's A Small World" only after a few Seven and Sevens...

My recent experience at Disney World was not quite as traumatic as that. I was quite dismayed to note, however, that the American Flags they have on the tops of the buildings along Main Street USA were quite old and worn. Clearly they had not been replaced in months.
It's a real shame when an organization cannot even be bothered to show proper respect for the flag by changing out and properly disposing of worn flags. The flags they had on display were washed out and grey, with lots of tattered edges.
No crime, of course. But no respect for the flag, either.
BTW, this was about 5 months after 9/11.
Dumb mouse!
