Our nation was founded upon the principles of valid Christianity, which recognize freedom of thought for all. (The God which Jesus and the Holy Spirit reveal does not override anyone's self determination, since in his image, he created us with autonomous wills.) One of the many results of our American freedom is pluralilty.
Pluralism however, would reverse this by denying that plurality is a result (of Christ-influenced hearts and minds) and by insisting instead that plural-ness is a cause. Pluralism becomes a big, "Kodak" negative of our nation's original culture. Pluralism is the hollow bubble of the post-modernist's very own belief system, as if we must by law, rally to commit ourselves together to be noncommital!
Recognition that we are endowed by our Creator with life, individual autonomy (for adults, while parents are responsible for their children), plus freedom of thought, and the freedom of benign, harmless behavior is American. Pluralism denies the very premises of these principles and seeks to erase them from the shared lives that are our culture.
That'll be ten cents.
