Never a good idea to malign a saint.

Jeanne couldn't help where she was born, and she did her best. And her cowardly king abandoned her to her fate at the hands of the Burgundians and the English, making no effort to rescue her. She was a better saint than they deserved (although maybe one they need, to give them a good example.)

St. Jeanne d'Arc is a favorite historical person of mine.
I just bought a book, Joan of Arc In Her Own Words. Befitting I think that along with it I also got Reagan's War.

American Mom...What can you tell me about that top picture? I'm not quite sure of what it's depicting, but it is striking.
