Israel typicaly askes the US to go easy on Iran, and the oil lobby asksks the US to go easy on Saudi Arabia. IMHO, both countries are worthless as friends or as members of the human race.

There is something that needs to be understood. This regime is on its last legs. A sea change in Iranian domestic politics is at hand. The liberation of Iraq could be the spark that encourages a revolt in the streets.

Already a division among the ruling clerics is apparent, and is probably much deeper than is publicly understood. In addition, the men of the bazaar, where the Iranian middle class plays politics, are already grumbling because of an inability of the regime to open up to the West and help their ability to do business.

Of course, the student class and the young are in revolt; that is a harbinger of things to come.

Be Seeing You,

Chris
