Thanks for the ping and the further information about the "original" group of terra cotta warriors (which are younger than these, it seems.) I think that it is one of the most memorable experiences of my life to have visited the museum and "dig" in 1983 where the first group of warriors were discovered near Xian.

I always recommend that anyone who goes to China visit Xian for a remarkable experience, but I have not persuaded a single soul to do so. They are usually more interested in the shopping in Shanghai, or hotels in Beijing! 'Tis a pity...
