Unfortunately, I believe they are. I've never come across any British politician, and very few citizens, who advocate introducing CCW here. The egregiously biased BBC never discuss the benefits of CCW in the USA and instead they only put forward the gun-grabbers' emotional "save the children" arguments. The term "Ministry of Propaganda" could be accurately applied to the BBC.

Here are "grieving Mums" complaining that thier offspring where viciously mowed down by "drug dealers" and "gangs." Look who the innocent offspring are hanging out with...I guess this minor point is worth overlooking when it comes to heartless, self-shooting, maniacle "GUNS."
Yep...CATO is very cautious about their image (since libertarianism seems to attact loonies) and I've haven't heard much out of them on 2nd Amendment issues until now.

I never really thought about it in those terms. I think that such a correlation is worth a good study. I think you have hit on something very interesting.
The Metropolitan Police would consider a victim who was fighting back to be an assailant, hence muggers tend to mug with impunity. I recently read about an American woman who was mugged by two men in London and fought back with her penknife. Apparently, she was prosecuted for assault and actual bodily harm.
Everywhere in London there are posters warning the 'sheep' to watch their bags and belonging, but none warning the miscreants of the consequences of their actions.
What consequences do most muggers and thieves have to worry about anyway? I recently heard about a sneak thief at Heathrow airport who had been convicted of 40 robberies and was suspected of doing at least another 40, but had only received 200 hours of community service!
Things were better outside of London, but the thoughtcrime posters are everywhere.
My favourite posters are those from the railway companies which say something like: "safe below the watchful eyes" or some such nonsense, (referring to the many new video cameras in railway stations). They remind me of the telescreen mentality in Orwell's 1984, its all for the citizens' safety you know. The fact that is has been proved that video cameras don't deter crime, but just displace it, is merely an inconvenient fact to the totalitarian cretins in the British government.

One of the biggest scams the Left has been able to pull off was the redefinition of fascism as "a far-right-wing dictatorial form of government" despite the obvious facts to the contrary.
The Goebbels-inspired BBC is however, in support of a few anarchists terrorizing ALL of an unarmed UK including "the children??" The easy solution: A sudden CCW policy which may result in a few "incidents" at it's inception, but then soon after everyone would be on their best behavior ;-)
I know this is rhetorical as well, but at what point of violence do the British "sheeple" realize common sense should supercede hair-brained liberal idealism?
