Mugabe has already said that he need 6 mil less populous to be solvent (read, get rid of my enemies). He won't give the food to those who are starving. Maybe Kofi could make a personal appearance in Zim to underscore the problem? That will happen about the time Clinton admits having known Flowers.

There has never been a lack of resources for the African continent to be entirely self-sufficient in food. The problem is local politics. The indigenous population is not permitted to grow the necessary crops. And once harvested, the product is either destroyed, or there is no economic incentive to develop a viable marketing system. Sending food aid only enriches the local bandit chieftains, who steal the food supplies from the charitable entities and resell the same for their personal gain. There is no thought given for the plight of the unprotected and dispossessed. Americans, and Westerners in general, are not callous. But the local warlords are, still living with their Stone Age mentality and AK-47 rifles to enforce it.

Talk about the plantation mind-set. In Africa, there are no "house slaves".
