Any idea why these were blue?

the U.N. base in Lebanon was stocked with Soviet weapons ... reportedly too sophisticated for the PLO to operate and intended for Soviet troops ... Israel found these in 1980's (early) ... some have suggested these were U.N. colors ... it appears to be the correct shade of U.N. blue ... given that it's against Israelis and Soviet-made it obviously is from one of their clients ... or client's clients, etc. ... they should be able to determine the date of manufacture and possible distribution ....
