The flag is a symbol of a state of mind...of independence from D.C.'s bureaucrats & I.R.S. Why don't the D.C. bureaucrats back off with the central-planning & race card-playing, and give Southern states reparations? Here is a thread discussing some of the illegal Northern attrocities in the South during the Civil War (and afterwards), which the revisionist media doesn't want us to notice:

Lincoln was a mentally ill (severely depressed) tyrant, who used slavery as an excuse to do what he wanted to do anyway. The after-affects linger on, as states such as Georgia have the nation's lowest S.A.T. average.

As an indirect descendant of Phil Sheridan, I take issue with the characterization of the general as cowardly and criminal.
Sheridan's operations in the Shenandoah Valley were military in nature. He was charged with ending the Valley's service as the Breadbasket of the Confederacy. His success can only have shortened the war.
If Dr. DiLorenzo wishes to throw around terms such as cowardly and criminal, he might try aiming them at Nathan Bedford Forest. The conduct of his troops at Fort Pillow would qualify under both counts.
