Gearhart and Daly don't specify the means by which they would drive men from the planet, but one must assume that, in order to achieve their goal of a "less violent world," oceans of blood would have to be spilled, and the heavy hand of a totalitarian state be put in place.

Mmmmm.....Let's see - this woman thinks that women are better suited for participating in the decontamination of the planet and reducing the male population by "evolutionary process" .... I will probably get flamed for this but - Mary espouses the rhetoric of a bitter old female control freak.
Who in their right mind would consider "women" to be more qualified than men to create and preserve a less violent world? The women who came up with this idea are the same ones who want to run the show by promoting and advocating those who believe in the cult violence of human sacrifice via legal abortion. Who would trust these women to protect Earth? A less violent world?? Some of the most violent people I have seen in action have been women. There are plenty of them driving around in SUV's during rush hour on any given day of the week.
Hello Mary? - Did you forget your zoloft at this interview? Was it your time of month? Did you forget most women are totally hormonally imbalanced 2 out of 4 weeks of the month? Not that most men aren't hormonally imbalanced 4 out of 4 weeks of the month...but there hasn't been much news of men interested in drastically reducing the female population. (Yet.)
Who is going to chose which men would qualify for survival protection? Would a drastically reduced male population even want to survive? Who would want to live under the rule of a planet filled with scorned women? The whole world got to witness what it drove Bill Clinton to - and he didn't stop driving until he sent Hillary back to Washington.
(And with that in mind, think about how well this experience has prepared Hillary for her next role - just in case an evolutionary decontamination process takes place.)

seriously....the only point that seems right that I think this writer is endorsing is that of protecting the female gender.....
in cultures where women are denigrated , enslaved, disrespected....for example in the radical Islamic nations....civilized living is impossible....
cultures where women are at the minimum respected and have equal rights are cultures where men can florish as well...men are better off in cultures where women are happy and secure....and have a sense of identity....
Our American culture although not perfect has at least made life for women better and easier and I do feel most women are happy and satisfied, despite what NOW says.....
ON the this Thanksgiving Day...I am very happy to be an American and to have lived my whole life here....(goes without saying I feel the same about most of the westernized countries.)
Besides - I would make all kinds of money "de-chicking" computers. You see the kind I mean in offices all the time: stuffed dolls and Post-It notes all over the monitor, cursors that look like starfish and monkeys, Active Desktop screensavers that take ten minutes just to boot up. I get called in when the Boss notices that one of these machines is taking a lot more time to run applications than it used to, and tends to freeze often. What I usually find is that it is choked with adware and viruses, there are lots of unneeded startup processes running in background, and a long list of service packs and critical updates never applied.
