I had a discussion with CivilLibertarian 2 days ago & found this poster to be thoughtful, intelligent and interesting to debate.

What offense did CivilLibertarian commit?

I hope FR has not become a place for wusses. When I joined, almost no one was banned. You had to have done something really bad. Now,it seems that if you piss off a few people, you are gone. When disruptors showed up, they were handled with facts, logic and wit. False posts were exposed quickly & allowed to remain online to stand as proof of the posters stupidity. Perhapsthat is why so many 'old timers' are leaving.

I hardly post much anymore. And I have no plans to contribute to FR again (I did once).

Long before 9-11 FR was pulling posts about Muslims converting to Christianity. It seems they couldn't handle this hot issue. I think it would be tolorated now, but it showed me that there is an over cautious attitude around here to suit my tastes.

For me FR has become a convenient portal to find news, but if it went away I would still be able to access the same information.
