If something like this were to happen, and the perpetrator were to be caught red-handed, it would be preferable for control of the guilty party to be 'accidentally' lost to any mob present at the scene, as long as that mob seemed sufficiently energized and self directed to be capable of delivering an immediate and horrific death to the terrorist.

We've learned that the 'soldiers' who commit these acts are of limited intel value.

And we know that the enemy within our ranks will do everything they can to obstruct any delivery of justice should the terrorist remain in official custody.

Better that media reports, and -ideally- videotape, of their unspeakably hideous deaths at the hands of a mob be broadcast to the American people.

Nah--that is only a "post terror" palliative. How about a preventive measure? Target two each 1 megaton nuclear missiles on Mecca and Medina, and announce that ANY FURTHER TERRORIST ATTACKS on the US will result in the conversion of those two targets into very large, glass-lined, holes in the desert.

I'd prefer to see a mob with the self-discipline to extract it's horrific revenge over a longer, more agonizing time period. Perhaps a week or so.
