I have done it befor but I shot from the hip. Turned out pretty good however...It's no secret, there are a very few that can cook out of pure instinct, they make the best Chef/cooks, far superior to any formally trained professional....Go for it!!!

Just got finished with the dishes.
The family decided to wait and leave in the early morning tomorrow. That is why I cooked up a few tasty vittles. I will putter about the house for the interim. They will return Sunday evening.
Hope you and yours have a happy holiday! My dog Baxter will keep me company and I will spend some time on-line.

...add the mystery ingredient...Summer SavouryBINGO, a touch goes a very long way in the right direction. The reason we don't see a greater use of this seasoning, is it has a powerful flavor, that must be used carefully with other ingredients.

Where you a member? No, but some of the guys I dated were. I remember the great food! Seems that Milieu (So. Shepherd, near Westheimer) burned down around that time or just a little before. Wow! That was a whole 'nother lifetime, wasn't it?

The only bummer is that its going to be in the mid 30's here tomorrow.Really an advantage...it will let you leave it alone longer than if you were standing there watching it....Turn fewer times and cook it longer....LOLOL

I don't use any other herb when I make stuffing,as it really compliments onion and celery well, unless if I use the mixed herb blend that Michel Guerard does, where he stuffs the mixture under the poultry skin, and it becomes very visible after roasting.Very tasty, too :-)

What is your opinion of the cooking bags for that Reynolds puts out...They work, it saves evaporation and helps the meat stay moist. Turkey has a bad reputation for being a DRY meat.. something that isn't the meats fault... most people cook them much too long, or at too low a temperature. The food police nannies have effectively frightened the consumer into believing you will die if you don't sacrifice your dinner to paranoia... LOL

Thanks for the turkey recipe, and it was a fun read. But I've never fixed a holiday turkey and I don't intend to ruin a perfect record at my advanced age! Now the only family I'm responsible for feeding prefers Science Diet, Senior, Beef, Canned.
I did, in fact, FReepmail you with a request for recipes. I reallllllllllllllly hope you can help me with those. :-)

How wonderful a day it has been. Thank you and everyone that have been so kind, and oh so sweet to me not only today, but what has been my experience with almost everyone on our fantastic site...Kiss and hug to all, and a big hug to you my dear girl. I'll keep an eye open for anyone that might need some assistance.

Wowie! Noelle's just thrilled. We thought the cookbook bit the dust!
So happy to know we can finally see our collective efforts.
Have a wonderful Thanksgiving. Had a glass of wine while assisting with the baking and now I have a beaut of a headache.
Enjoy Turkey Day!

Hi Billie. Thanks for your email. I am considering the date and will get back with you. I will be on line-tomorrow, can't wait to say hi to everyone on Thanksgiving day! :) I'm having my first little difficulty (choosing a candidate!) Once I get that done, all is smooth sailing. Right? LOL What a nice day I've had. A half day's work at full pay. Good weather. Dinner with friends. And FR for dessert. :)
