The Constitution, the Bill of Rights, the whole system of protections does not apply to us. Federal Courts are NOT ALLOWED to step in for judicial review, even if they wanted to. That piece of parchment in the national archives in Washington DC has no legal standing for protecting anyone who meets the two standards of (1) being a parent and (2) having been born with a dominant "Y" chromosome. How do you fight to change a system when we have no rights, no means of legal redress and no Constitutional protections? The Al Qaeda detaininees at Gitmo have more rights than the American father.

Criminals have a lot more rights than fathers. You hit the nail on the head. It started when the federal government became involved, illegally. Since they couldn't be involved legallly, everything had to be done using the organized crime model instead of the constitutional model.

When you take a look at just how deep the rabbit hole goes, I'm left with no other opinion of the state of affairs, or hope for any change that amounts to anything. I know that this sounds very defeatist, but these people have managed to rig the system illegally, but in a way that cannot be undone, short of a constitutional amendment. Given the current political climate, the billions of dollars of federal prize money, and the TENS OF THOUSANDS OF JOBS THAT depend on this system, relief via constitutional amendment just isn't going to happen. The amendment that allowed the imposision of the income tax was not legally ratified. With the IRS, accounting industry and tax lawyers all so firmly entrenched, what do you think the chances are of THAT illegal practice being undone? That's the same chance of the divorce and support industry being undone.

Call me pessimist if you like, but the ONLY way that this industry can be dismantled is is to starve it to death. How...? Not by refusing to pay the extortionate court orders...? No, they planned for that. It would only tighten their grip. No, from what I can see, will rpobably have to "take one for the team" and focus on preventing any new entrants into the arena. Warn them, show them what will most likely happen. Encourage them to get vasectomies. Get one yourself if you haven't done so already. We had a hard time getting any good attention from federal, state, and local governments before 9/11. Getting any now will be even less likely. I know that in my state, every time that the fathers managed to get the legislature to look at this, all they do is put together a panel loaded with man-haters and after months of study only reccomend changing some of the legal terms and re-working the guidelines so that everyone gets their order increased. Fight to keep any new, draconian laws from being passed, but the future is where this will be resolved. They will have to be starved out.
